Flower Field - print
Song of Songs 2:11-12. "See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come. The cooing of doves is heard in our land."
I love it when God speaks through His word and His people directly to us. He knows us each by name, He sees us and He loves us. We are not insignificant to Him.
For many years I have described the season I've been in as 'winter' for various reasons. I know God sees me and knows me and yet I have needed to wrestle with going my own way or holding onto Him and continuing to trust even when life circumstances tell me otherwise.
Every year I take comfort in the evidence of spring which is so visible in the UK. Even when everything seems dormant, dark, and cold the seeds have been growing below the surface and the snowdrops and daffodils bring with them hope for what is to come.A few years ago, I was given a picture inspired by Song of Songs 2:11-12. It hangs in my kitchen and brings me hope. A couple of years later I was given a word by a member of my church. This person does not know my situation or specifics about my journey or what picture hangs in my kitchen. The word was the exact verse onto which I was holding. He quoted the verse and told me that my winter has ended and spring has come! This painting was inspired by this verse and my journey of beginning to walk into this next season filled with hope.
No matter which season you are in, please know that God sees you, loves you and is with you even in the winter.
