Jesus My Shield

When going through one of the hardest storms of my life, everything was overwhelming, everything was shaken and I felt completely out of control over what was happening to me and around me. 

 

I was encouraged by a family member who said that while we normally hold up the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16) in difficult circumstances, sometimes, when we feel too tired or weak to be able to hold up the shield of faith, we need to hold onto Jesus and he becomes our shield. 

 

Psalm 28: 7-8 'The Lord is my strength and shield, my heart trust in him and he helps me.'

 

Months after painting this I have discovered the song 'Jesus My Shield' by Jelly Roll & Anne Wilson which puts a song to my picture.
