Letting Go - print

During an incredibly difficult season in my life, when on a prayer walk this picture came to mind.

 

I feel I was being guided by the Holy Spirit to let go of what I was holding onto so tightly. What once was beautiful had now died and holding on was causing me pain. I needed to release my grasp so that my hands can be open for the next season which will bring life. Even knowing this, it was incredibly hard to release each finger and when I was working on releasing the next finger, the other fingers felt like they were re-grasping. It took time, prayer and counselling but I have now let go and am waiting with open hands for the next season.
